Junhao Wang, a fifteen year-old sophomore in high school, studies piano with Drs. Jie and Ning Lu. His most recent remarkable achievements include 2nd place in the 2015-16 Music Teachers National Association Piano Competition, Bronze Medalist in the 2015 Seattle International Piano Competition, and contestant for both the 2016 Gina Bachauer International Young Artists Piano Competition and the 2015 Cleveland International Piano Competition for Young Artists.
His other accomplishments include 1st place in the Utah Music Teachers Association Piano Concerto Competitions (2013 and 2015), 1st place in the 2015 Utah Valley University Piano Competition, 1st Prize and 2nd Prize in the Utah International Piano Academy and Helen Taylor Johannesen International Piano Competitions (2016 and 2015), 1st place in both the Concerto and Solo divisions of the 2014 SummerArts Piano Competition at the University of Utah, and 1st Prize in the 2013 American Fine Arts Festival Concerto Competition (AFAF).
As an AFAF winner, he presented his performance at Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall in 2013. He performed with the Salt Lake Symphony in 2013, and the American West Symphony of Sandy in 2015. Last year, he was selected to perform concerts for the Gina Bachauer International Piano Foundation on several occasions.
Junhao has performed in master classes with Paul Schenly, Douglas Humpherys, Alexander Korsantia, Hans Boepple, Alvin Chow, Angela Cheng, Logan Skelton, Benedetto Lupo, and Joseph Rackers. He also took private lessons from Ilya Itin, Francesco Libetta, Pasquale Ianonne, Michael Berkovsky, Zlata Chochieva, Giselle Brodsky, and Misha Dacic.
