  • Solo performance only; no orchestral performance will be accepted.
  • NO EDITING of an individual work is permitted.
  • The video must clearly show applicant’s face and hands at all times during performance
  • For best sound quality, use external microphones (mounted independently of camera).
  • Video files must be recorded after September 30, 2013.
  • Listen to the video files before uploading to guarantee the quality of the recording.

Applicants will be notified of their acceptance/alternate/non-acceptance status by e-mail, sent no later than November 15, 2014. We will attach a formal letter of invitation to all accepted competitors, which foreign competitors may use as an official letter to obtain a passport and the B-1 Business visa at the nearest United States Embassy or Consulate. A letter of invitation to the chaperone can also be provided if needed.  Foreign competitors currently studying in the United States on a student visa require no further documentation to compete. In early December of 2014, an information packet will be emailed to accepted competitors giving details of travel, general schedule, and host family information.

Applicants should retain copies of all materials sent with their applications, especially the repertoire for each round of competition. The Hilton Head International Piano Competition for Young Artists accepts no responsibility for lost documents. All application materials become the property of the Competition.
