Gerard Aimontche is a prizewinner at numerous international competitions including the Grieg International Piano Competition; 8th Maria Yudina International Competition of Young Pianists, Piano Duets, and Chamber Ensembles; 7th Nikolai Rubinstein International Competition for Young Musicians; Chappell Medal Competition and Schumann Prize Award (London); American Protégé Romantic Music Competition (New York); and the Guzik Foundation Award (San-Francisco).   He was also a semi-finalist at the Montreux Jazz Piano Competition (Switzerland); Hamamatsu Piano Competition; and the Cleveland Piano Competition.

Mr. Aimontche has performed several times with the State Symphony Orchestra of Moscow under conductor Dmitriy Orlov, and he also played with the Kaliningrad Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Aleksandr Andreev.  In 2014 he performed George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue with the Kursk Philharmonic Orchestra, and Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini with the Yaroslavl State Philharmonic Orchestra.

Gerard has been invited to perform at international music festivals including Mozarteum (Austria), Montreux Jazz Festival, Visiting Larisa Gergieva (Russia), The River of Talents (Russia), and Night in the Museum (Tretyakovskaya Gallery, Russia). In October 2015, Gerard performed Rachmaninoff’s Concerto No 3 at the Colour of Music Festival in Charleston, South Carolina.

In 2009, Gerard received his undergraduate diploma from Gnessin Music School.  He holds a Music Diploma (Distinction) from Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory (2014), where he studied with Professor Sergey Dorensky and his assistants, professors Andey Pisarev, Nikolay Lugansky, and Pavel Nersessian.  Currently, Gerard is studying simultaneously at the Royal College of Music (Masters in Performance, with Professor Norma Fisher), and the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory (postgraduate degree in performance, with Professor Sergey Dorensky).
