Heejun-Han-South-Korea

Twenty-five year old Hee-Jun Han was born in Seoul, Republic of Korea.   She started playing piano at 4 years old.  She holds a Bachelors degree from Seoul National University, where she studied with Professors Ick Choo Moon and Soo Jung Shin.  She received special grants from Seoul National University and the Oh Jeong Ju Music Foundation.

Ms. Han has won numerous prizes while competing globally, including 1st Prize and the Rubinstein Prize at the Concurso International de Piano ‘Ciudad de Marbella’ in Spain.   In the United States, she won prizes at the Missouri Southern International Piano Competition ,  and was a finalist at the  Bösendorfer International Piano competition.   Ms. Han has won multiple prizes in Korea at the Dong-A Music competition, Samick-Bechstein Piano competition, Ewha Kyunghyang music competition, The Music Association of Korea competition, Suri National piano competition, Nanpa National piano competition, and the International Piano competition.

Ms. Han is noted for her wide repertoire, ranging from baroque to contemporary composers.  She has played recitals in prestigious venues including the Seoul Art Center, Kumho Art Hall, Pyeongchang Hall, Solitär Mozarteum, and Teatro de Marbella.   She has also performed with the PRIME Philharmonic Orchestra at the Nanpa Music Festival, and the Yewon Orchestra.  Ms. Han has performed in master classes with Menaham Pressler, Arie Vardi, John O’Conor, Eguchi Fumiko, and Shigeo Neruki.

In 2016, she has solo recitals scheduled in Spain, Germany, Italy, and Austria.

Ms. Han is currently a student at the University Mozarteum Salzburg, studying for her Master Piano Soloist Degree with Professor Jacques Rouvier.
