Mayuki Miyashita is from Hamamatsu City, Japan, and now lives in Maryville, Tennessee.  She currently studies piano with Dr. David Northington at the University of Tennessee School of Music.  In the last few years, Mayuki’s prodigious talent has impressed every audience that has had the opportunity to experience her captivating performances.

She has received First Prize in the 2011, 2012 and 2014 Music Teachers National Association’s Tennessee Competition.  In 2013, she won the Knoxville Symphony Youth Orchestra Concerto Competition, performing Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.12 with the Knoxville Symphony Youth Orchestra.  The same week she won the Maryville Orchestra Concerto Competition, performing Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No.1 with the Maryville College Orchestra.

Most recently, Mayuki has garnered major prizes in several national and international competitions, including the Second Prize in the 2013 Kaufman Music Center International Youth Piano Competition in New York City, First Prize in the Midwest International Piano Competition in Iowa, and the Grand Prize in the MostArts Youth Piano Competition in Alfred, NY.  After she was invited to perform on National Public Radio’s From the Top series in January of 2014, she had such an extraordinary success that she was invited as the only pianist to perform in the annual NPR Gala Concert in Boston in May.  Mayuki has performed in master classes for Krystian Tkaczewski and Byron Janis, who commented that ‘she has it all’!
