Meagan-Milatz-CanadaMeagan Milatz completed her Performer’s ARCT diploma at the age of twelve. Since then, Meagan has developed as both a soloist and collaborator. In 2009, she earned second place in Piano Class B at the OSM competition in Montréal. She received second place at the National Music Festival in 2009 and third place in 2011.  Also in 2011, Meagan was named the most outstanding competitor in the Grand Awards Competition at the Saskatchewan provincial music festival.

Meagan performed with the Sherbrooke Symphony Orchestra in 2007 after winning first place in her age category at the Canadian Music Competition.  She appeared again with this orchestra in January 2015 as winner of McGill University’s 2014 Classical Concerto Competition.  In January 2016, she also appeared with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra.

Ms. Milatz’s first prize at the CFMTA National Piano Competition in 2011 gave her the opportunity to perform collaboratively with the members of the Gryphon Trio. She has performed with Andrew Wan, concertmaster of the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, on several occasions. Meagan has given concerts for various series including the Regina Musical Club series, the Weyburn Concert Series, the DOFMS Concert Series in Ottawa, and Jeunesses Musicales du Canada.  In 2014, she earned top prize at the Shean Piano Competition, and received the award for best performance of the test piece.

Meagan has participated in summer programs including the Banff Centre, the Gijón International Piano Festival in Spain, and Morningside Music Bridge in both Calgary and Poland. She currently studies with Ilya Poletaev at McGill University, and pursues fortepiano studies with Tom Beghin.  She was the recipient of a 2014 Developing Artist Grant from the Hnatyshyn Foundation.
