Miao Huang is a German pianist with Chinese roots.  During the last season, she played more than

50 concerts, including her debut with the Bochum Symphony Orchestra, performing Beethoven’s 5th Piano Concerto, as well as a sold-out recital at the Shanghai Concert Hall.

 Ms. Huang has been a prizewinner of numerous international piano competitions, including Hong Kong, Jaén, Newport, Vladimir Horowitz and Alessandro Casagrande.  She received the coveted First Prize for her outstanding performances at the German Music Competition in 2011, being the first female pianist in the history of the competition to earn this distinction in the piano category.  Recently, she was awarded the Mozart Prize at the 2013 Cleveland International Piano Competition.

Ms. Huang has appeared as soloist with a wide range of orchestras including the Symphony Orchestra of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine, the Chisinau National Philharmonic, the Folkwang Kammerorchester Essen, the Neues Kammerorchester Potsdam, the Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie,  Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong, and the Orquesta de Córdoba.  She has collaborated with conductors including Christopher Warren-Green, Marcus Bosch, and Eiji Oue.

Venues where Ms. Huang has performed include the Konzerthaus Berlin, the Gewandhaus Leipzig, the Liederhalle Stuttgart, the Kiev Philharmonic, the Lviv Philharmonic, and the Hong Kong City Hall.   Festival performances include the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival and the Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele.  Other engagements have taken her to China, United Kingdom, Austria, Moldavia, the Ukraine, and South America.

Ms. Huang has participated in master classes with Cécile Ousset, Arie Vardi, Matti Raekallio, Peter Feuchtwanger, and Michael Ponti.

Ms. Huang has studied with Prof. Wolfram Schmitt-Leonardy, Prof. Fabio Bidini and Prof. Bernd Goetzke.  Her debut recording with works by Chopin and Ravel was released by the German label GENUIN in 2013.
