The Hilton Head International Piano Competition proudly offers Master Classes during the competition, given by the Competition judges. Participants are chosen by the judges at the conclusion of Round II from among the competitors who do not advance beyond Round II. Each judge will give a public lesson on compositions from the competitor’s Competition repertoire.  The pairings of judges and competitors are announced by the Jury Chairman following the announcement of the advancing competitors. The Jury Chair will give a special Lecture/Recital in lieu of a Master Class.

The Hilton Head International Piano Competition continues to offer its School Ambassador Program, introduced at the 2003 Competition. Participating competitors have the opportunity to perform selections from their Competition repertoire and/or favorite native works, for students in Hilton Head Island area schools and to dialogue with them about the competitor’s musical study and life in their home countries. These school visits are conducted through the Youth Programs Committee of the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra.
