Tommy Leo was born in Singapore, but spent his early childhood in Tokyo and Hong Kong, and subsequently moved to London in 2013.  Tommy studied music with Professor Gabriel Kwok at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts from 2010 to 2013.  He is currently a music scholar at The Westminster School in London, and studies at the Junior Academy of the Royal Academy of Music under the tutelage of Professor Christopher Elton.

Tommy started showing his musical talent when he was just over 2 years old.  He started learning piano by himself at the age of 3.  He has participated in piano competitions around the world and won numerous prizes including First Prize at the 4th Kitamoto Piano Competition in Japan, Silver Prize at the 8th International Chopin Piano Competition in Asia, and Gold Prize at the Passion of Music International Piano Competition held in New York in 2010.  Most recently, Tommy won First Prize and Grand Prize in the 10th International Chopin Golden Ring Piano Competition in Slovenia, and Second Prize (First Prize not awarded) in the Young Pianist of the North International Piano Competition in New Castle, U.K.

Tommy gave his debut piano recital at the age of four.  He was the youngest musician at the Tokyo Ogikubo Music Festival in May 2007 at the age of seven.  In August 2010, Tommy was the youngest artist invited to the Vianden International Music Festival in Luxembourg on scholarship.  Tommy has also participated and given performances in many music festivals in Korea, Germany, USA, the UK, and Italy.
