Angeline Ma is from Berwyn, Pennsylvania. She has been playing the piano since the age of five and currently studies with Susan Starr. Angeline is a 2019 and 2020 YoungArts winner in Classical Music and has received prizes in numerous competitions, including the Princeton Festival Piano Competition, Kennett Square Symphony Competition, TriCounty Youth Festival, International Young Artist Piano Competition in Washington D.C., Chopin International Piano Competition in Hartford, Kosciuszko Foundation Chopin Competition in Washington D.C., Steinway & Sons Junior Piano Competition, and the Greenfield Competition with the Philadelphia Orchestra. Angeline is a three-time Chopin Foundation of the United States Scholarship recipient, as well as a two-time recipient of the Vladimir & Haewon Feltsman Piano Foundation scholarship. Angeline was selected as one of five winners in the Old York Road Symphony Young Artist Competition and will play with the Old York Road Symphony in 2020. Most recently, she won the Pennsylvania Music Teachers National Association Competition. Angeline has performed at venues including the Polish Embassy in Washington, D.C., Kosciuszko Foundation in New York City, and Carnegie Hall, and with orchestras including the Ambler Symphony Orchestra and MostArts Festival Orchestra.

Angeline has been featured on NPR’s program From the Top, WWFM’s Kids on Keys, and on WRTI as the first prize winner in the 2019 Steinway & Sons Junior Piano Competition. Angeline has taken master classes with renowned pianists such as Andre Laplante, Kevin Kenner, Vladimir Feltsman, Dang Thai Son, Vladimir Ovchinnikov, Katarzyna Popowa Zydroń, Tamás Ungár, Phillip Kawin, Victor Rosenbaum, Piotr Paleczny, Ewa Poblocka, and Alexander Korsantia.

Angeline resides in Berwyn, Pennsylvania, near Philadelphia. She attends Conestoga High School and was a 2017 and 2018 recipient of her school’s Leadership and Service Award. She has been featured in her school’s yearbook and newspaper for her musical achievements. In her free time, Angeline enjoys creative writing, website design, and baking.
