The mission of the Hilton Head International Piano Competition is to encourage and support excellence in the performance of classical piano music by showcasing the talents of young pianists on the threshold of their careers in a competition adjudicated by internationally acclaimed judges, and to offer additional performance opportunities.
Sascha Gorodnitzki Memorial Prize
In 2014, the Sascha Gorodnitzki Foundation endowed a $1000 Sascha Gorodnitzki Memorial Prize as a judges’ discretionary award given to the competitor who shows great promise but who did not advance to the Finals Round.

’15 Honens Piano Competition – September, 2015
From 50 quarterfinalists, 10 were chosen to compete in the Semi-Finals September 3-7. Three HHIPC alums are semi-finalists: Scott Cuellar (2014), Henry Kramer (2012), and Sejoon Park (2010 and 2012)
Cleveland International Piano Competition Young Artists:
Congratulations to Jae Hong Park, winner of the first prize in the Junior Division; Elliot Wuu, winner of the third prize in the Junior Division and the Mozart Prize; William Yang, winner of the Bach Prize and Chaeyoung Park, third prize winner in the Senior Division.
Cliburn International Junior Piano Competition:
Congratulations to Tony Yike Yang, winner of the Jury Discretionary Prize.
ePiano Junior Competition:
Congratulations to Elliot Wuu who won 2nd Prize and a special Schubert Prize
17th Chopin International Piano Competition:
Naomi Kudo (2007), Kate Liu (2011), JiYeon Mun (2011), Jinhyun Park (2013), Rina Sudo (2010), Alexei Tartakovski (2012), Zhu Wang (2011), Tony Yike Yang (2013).
Busy on the concert stage are, among many:
Leonardo Colafelice (1st Prize 2013) appearing in Columbia SC at the South Eastern Piano Festival;
Steven Lin (multiple prizes 2012) just finished a series of concerts with the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra and has appeared in Israel and Los Angeles;
Charlie Albright (Third Prize 2007) is on tour in the US with Keith Lockhart and the BBC Orchestra. Read about his travels on his blog: charliealbright.blogspot.com.
Lukáš Vondráček (First Prize 2010) performed with the Baltimore Symphony, under the direction of Marin Alsop in May 2015.
