Hannah’s earliest teacher was her mother, concert pianist Melody Qi He. In Australia, Hannah worked with Stephen McIntyre, Nehama Patkin, and Geoffrey Tozer, and presented recitals and concerto performances in Melbourne, Sydney, Cairns, and Perth. She continued in New York City, studying with Phillip Kawin, Constance Keene, and Miyoko Lotto at the Manhattan School of Music Preparatory division. She earned her Masters and Bachelor of Music degrees at The Juilliard School, studying with Seymour Lipkin and Jerome Lowenthal.
Hannah garnered First Prize at the New York International Piano Competition, Long Island Conservatory’s International Music Competition, and 5 Towns Music and Art Young Musician Competition, and Third Prize at the Kosciuszko Foundation’s Chopin Piano Competition. She has performed with the Manhattan Chamber Orchestra, Manhattan Chamber Players, Orchestra of Southern Utah, and the Corda Spirita Chamber Orchestra in Queensland, Australia. Hannah has also appeared on PBS and New York’s classical music station WQXR.
Hannah’s chamber music passion has taken her to the American Conservatory at Fontainebleau, France, International Academy of Music in St. Petersburg, Russia, and the Kneisel Hall Chamber Music Festival in Maine. She has also conducted masterclasses and workshops on improvisation, songwriting, and minimalist music at the Kneisel Hall-Blue Hill: Together in Music community outreach program. Her love of teaching has also led her to engage students in improvisation and ensemble playing at the Li Song Piano School in Dongguan, China.
