Born in Jiaxing, China, Xiaoxuan Li began taking piano lessons at the age of four.  He studied with Tianying Zhao, Zijie Wu, and is now studying with Professor Zhe Tang.  He is currently a grade one student at the Middle School affiliated with the Shanghai Conservatory of Music.

His natural feel for music and his diligent work have already won him many awards, including Fourth Prize at the Ettlingen Young Artist Piano Competition in Germany, Second Prize at the Asia Youth Piano Competition, and First Prize at the Chinese National Young Artist Piano Competition.  He was also awarded a scholarship to Ende Niu as a recognition of his achievements.

Xiaoxuan has performed with the Ashdod Orchestra at the Perugia International Music Festival in Italy, and at the Osaka International Music Festival in Japan.  He has also performed extensively in China, most recently in Shanghai at the Shanghai Concert Hall and the Shanghai Oriental Art Center; in Sichuan at the Great Concert Hall of the Sichuan Conservatory of Music; in Wuhan at the Wuhan Conservatory of Music; in Xi’an at the Xi’an Conservatory of Music; in Hangzhou at the Hangzhou Normal University; in Xiamen at the Xiamen Music School; in Suzhou at the Suzhou Culture and Arts Centre; and in Yangzhou at the Yangzhou Culture and Arts Centre.
