Seongwoo Moon

Seongwoo Moon graduated from Seoul Arts High School, where he studied under Seunghye Choi. He is currently studying with Heesung Joo at Seoul National University, receiving a scholarship from the Samick Cultural Foundation and DYC Company. His achievements in competitions include second prize at the Singapore Youth Piano Competition (2019), first prize at the Joong-Ang Competition (2021), one of the biggest competitions in Korea, and second prize at the Dong-A Competition (2019, Korea). He was the winner of the 2020 Taipei International Maestro Piano Festival’s Promising Star Competition, which earned him a concert with the Taipei Symphony Orchestra in 2022.

 

Seongwoo has performed recitals in concert halls in Korea including Kumho Art Hall Yonsei, Seongnam Arts Center, Mozart Hall, Seoul National University, Sejong Arts Center Chamber Hall, and the Pohang Arts Center. He has had chamber performances at Thayer Hall and Zipper Hall at the Colburn School (Los Angeles), and at the Santa-Cecilia Conservatory in Italy. He has performed in Korea with the Seongnam, Gyeongbuk and Pohang Philharmonic Orchestras.

Seongwoo has taken master classes from Pascal Roge, Rudolf Meister, Ory Shihor, Nelson Delle-Vigne Fabbri, Philip Jenkins, Edward Wolanin, and Soojung Shin among others.
